At Rosie & Whimsy, we specialize in creating one-of-a-kind junk journals that capture your memories in a beautiful way. Our crafts are made with love and attention to detail, ensuring that each piece is truly special and may be personalized in order to "embrace the junk."

What is a "junk" journal?

 

I love working with recycled/upcycled materials that already carry a bit of history, so I’m constantly collecting old paper, receipts, tickets, photos, labels, and anything with a worn-in charm. I even make many of my own supplies, like hand–coffee‑stained papers that give my projects a warm, vintage feel. Fabrics, lace, buttons, jewelry pieces and other little found objects often make their way into my work too, adding texture and personality. There’s something special about transforming everyday scraps into meaningful pieces and creating my own materials lets me shape the exact look and mood I want.

There are none! There is not a right or wrong way to use your journal. Ways to use your journal can be displaying on your shelves, recipe book, planner, prayer or bible journal, sketchbook, keepsake or gifts, the ideas are endless.

 To embrace the junk is to let go of perfection and welcome imperfection as inspiration. Junk journaling transforms old receipts, book pages, and forgotten finds into something uniquely yours. Each “junk” piece holds a story together, they create a visual diary full of texture, color, and authentic expression.

    Rosie & Whimsy is inspired by my mini Goldendoodle named Rosie, capturing her playful spirit and charm. The name reflects a blend of warmth, whimsy, and heartfelt creativity, much like Rosie herself.
